A little over a year ago our youngest was dealing with some stomach issues and anxiety, causing her to have excess anxiety and stomach issues. She had a difficult time finding food that she enjoyed and could tolerate. After a variety of MD appointments, appreciating the combined effort of care of our PCP and our Alternate Medical MD, it was decided that she needed to try first eliminating gluten, which helped, but not enough. Then she eliminated milk products. Within a short time, she was starting to feel better without the depressant side effect of anxiety and the reduction of anxiety issues.
These are the same two items that our middle daughter and I also have eliminated for our own issues. It has made a huge difference in how each of us feel.
Last year, while trying to decide what to have, and being a mom who desired to have her daughter eat well, gave her information on how to make a gluten and milk free shake. And, since she loved blueberries I asked her if she would like to try making a blueberry shake. A little apprehensive, she was willing to give it a go.
Last summer she went through the remaining blueberries that were left in our freezer from the prior year pickings, making these shakes. A few weeks ago she started thinking about making herself a shake, then discovered that I still had some left in the freezer from last summers’ picking.
This year again, she has just about emptied our freezer of what I had left for what I generally use in baking. Like anyone making a shake, you basically put in the amounts of what makes your shake perfect for you.
For those that used to enjoy Frosty’s, you will find that this is a much more enjoyable substitute with no stomach upset (yes, that is why I can no longer have Frosty’s). So, here you go….
